A MOTORCYCLIST who was photographed on a freeway with a barbecue strapped to his body has hit a snag.

Last night on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Nicolas Cage confirmed that he’s signed on to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze in the Ghost Rider sequel Spirit of Vengeance. The Crank team of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are directing.

The makers of what has been described as the “world’s greatest weapon”, the Russian Kalashnikov machine gun, were also pretty handy at constructing motorbikes, selling around 11 million of them since their formation in 1927. For many years, this Soviet motorbike factory ran second only to Japan in production numbers.

You probably recognize the sound of a Harley motorcycle. If you don't, try roaring "potato-potato-potato" into a microphone, and you'll be close. But today there's a much quieter motorcycle sneaking up behind the Harley, the 2010 Zero S street motorcycle. And if you don't love the sound, your neighbors sure will.

Bosch has recently developed a new generation antilock braking system (ABS) for motorcycles which has the potential to prevent 38 per cent of motorcycle accidents involving personal injury and 48 per cent of those leading to fatalities, according to a study published by the Swedish highways authority. Further, a study published by the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) concludes that fatality rates would be reduced by 12 per cent if all motorcycles were equipped with ABS.

Rent increases don’t affect Ian Pettet whose home is wherever his motor bike and his cross-bred terrier mate, Oscar happen to be.

Mr Pettet, who admits to being "over 50", lives in relative luxury on his Honda 1800 Goldwing at various locations around Brisbane.

A MOTORCYCLIST is recovering in hospital after he was knocked off his bike by a highway-hopping kangaroo in Cairns.
