This is a side of motorcycling often ignored, but the 4B's, with regular visits, distribution of magazines and friendly support, try to make it as easy as possible.

The Motorcycle Riders Association of Australia was founded in Melbourne in May, 1978 as a non-profit, volunteer organisation working in the interests of it's Victorian members. From 2004 to 2009 there were motions to consolidate and rename as the Victorian Branch so at the 2010 AGM the name changed to MRA(Vic).The MRA(Vic) offers support to all Australian motorcyclists from social, sporting and interested clubs to any motorcycle related organsations. The MRA(Vic) is also a member of the Australian Motorcycle Council. More ..

Breaking : Motorcycle movie sequel not Mickey Mouse enough, Wild Hogs 2 cancelled

It was a movie about four friends taking a motorcycle trip across the United States that drew audiences of non-riders as well as bikers to the theaters making it a surprise hit in 2007.

While many looked forward to a sequel of Disney's Wild Hogs, Variety Magazine is reporting the movie has ridden into the sunset before it could have its day.

Motorcyclists will pay $5 for a return trip on the $2.5 billion road in a move that has shocked and angered riders.
Until now, motorbikes have been allowed on tollways such as CityLink free of charge because of difficulties photographing rear number plates and fitting electronic tags to the bikes.

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the Bass Highway near Devonport on Sunday that was so horrific counselling has been offered to emergency workers who attended the scene and any witnesses.

Police believe the rider hit several posts on a wire barrier about 6.45pm (AEDT) on the Lillico Straight section of the highway at Devonport. The rider sustained severe injuries and died instantly.

Breaking : Footpath Parking - Council Meeting to Discus Tues 30th Oct 5.30pm

The motion being put by Cr Clarke to review footpath parking will be discussed at the next City of Melbourne Council meeting which starts at 5.30pm on Tuesday 30th October.

The MRAA encourages riders and interested parties to attend this meeting to hear what Cr Clarke has to say.

Anyone who wants to speak at the meeting is advised to arrive very early to register with council re their say or contact council direct.

Breaking : Footpath Parking Proposed Ban in Melbourne CBD - MRAA Responds

Riders across the board have been outraged today (25 Oct) at the plan put forward yesterday by Cr Peter Clarke, which would see motorbikes parked on footpaths in Flinders Lane and Little Collins, Little Bourke, Little Lonsdale and Little La Trobe streets made liable for fines up to $115.

The MRAA has been in contact with the MCC head of Community Safety Stephen Martin who advised that there have been no complaints received in relation to motorcycles blocking pedestrians. MRAA President Dale Maggs has spoken with Cr Clarke and put the rider case to him.
