The name 4B's stands for Bent & Buckled Bikies Bureau, with the idea being to offer injured riders support during their stays in hospital. This is a side of motorcycling often ignored, but the 4B's, with regular visits, distribution of magazines and friendly support, try to make it as easy as possible.

Protecting and Promoting Rider’s Rights


The Motorcycle Riders Association of Australia was founded in Melbourne in May, 1978 as a non-profit, volunteer organisation working in the interests of it's Victorian members. From 2004 to 2009 there were motions to consolidate and rename as the Victorian Branch so at the 2010 AGM the name changed to MRA(Vic).The MRA(Vic) offers support to all Australian motorcyclists from social, sporting and interested clubs to any motorcycle related organsations. The MRA(Vic) is also a member of the Australian Motorcycle Council. More ..

Declaration for vulnerable road users

This one's taken a while to come see the light of day, as the United Nations (UN) was first founded in 1945.

But it's now happened, and the international organisation has produced a four-page declaration at its first ministerial conference on road safety in Moscow which includes specific action on vulnerable road users.Open in new window

On Thursday, motorcyclists were able to chalk up another victory in their fight against the increase in compulsory insurance rates planned for the beginning of November. Demonstrations by half-naked riders succeeded, as expected, in grabbing the headlines. "Steinitz is forcing us to ride with no coverage," stated posters carried by riders wearing only undergarments or bathing suits. A bikini-clad woman wrote on her leg: "The insurance is stripping me!" Yet anyone who had the impression that this was a spontaneous protest effort that went well was mistaken. This is a well-oiled and well coordinated media campaign.
