Bent & Buckled Bikies Bureau
The name 4B's stands for Bent & Buckled Bikies Bureau, with the idea being to offer injured riders support during their stays in hospital. This is a side of motorcycling often ignored, but the 4B's, with regular visits, distribution of magazines and friendly support, try to make it as easy as possible.

Stonington and Port Phillip Highway Patrol Units are on target to speak to 1000 drivers and motorcyclists this weekend about sharing the road safely.

As part of Operation Be Aware, funded by the Victorian Motorcycle Advisory Council, 520 people have been spoken to in an effort to remind all road users of the need for more attention and awareness.

Motorists will also receive a pamphlet produced by VMAC which has both tips for drivers and riders.

This time last year, there had been 17 motorcycle fatalities. To date, this figure has doubled.

The number of riders killed in the metro area has tically risen from nine in 2009 to 19 this year.

Though the aim of the operation is education, Sergeant Michael Free said, "We will be checking for offences and depending on the nature of the offence, warnings or prosecution will be considered".

A similar operation was run in the area in early June with more than 400 road users spoken to.
