Tony found a Motorcycle Road Safety Commercial in the UK I thought we should share as it's actually quite positive.
Think Biker I liked the South Australian one as well. No place to Race They're available for download from here if you want as well.

The 'No Place to race' ad is very good.
However, why is it that the manufactures keep churning out race type looking bikes for the road? It only encourages the type of behaviour that should be reserved for the track. Other than a cruiser you cannot buy a bike that is made for road comfort with a pillion. The pillion seats are for monkeys. Look back at the bikes up to the late 80s, all had pillion seats that were serviceable. Probably the main reason I have not bought a new bike is that they all look like they are track ready. I hate them. I just want to ride a nice bike without looking like Mr Doohan (sorry Mick, no insult intended) on my way to the finish line.

There's plenty of bikes available Brian - lots of tourers (leaving BMW out of it) there's bikes like the Honda ST1300, the Suzuki Bandit or SV650, the Kawasaki GTR1400 etc. You could try an adventure tourer like the GS 650 BMW, Suzuki V-Strom or Ducati Multistrada.
You're even old enough to justify a big scooter :)

You're right Tony. Plenty of 2 up type of bikes out there. The Blackbird, VFR800, older CBR1000s, ZZR1200s and so on for the sports tourer types.
Plenty of nakeds. CB1100, GSX1400, Yamaha Diversion, Triumph Speed Triple and the dual sports bikes such as the Suzuki V twin (forget the model number) and KTM Adventure. Brian, the world's moved on since you (and Tony) bought your Beemers. There is plenty of choice out there today. A lot more so since I started riding larger road bikes back in the late 70s/early 80s. Thing is, if we didn't have the sports bike market we would probably may not have a decent road racing series such as the domestic or world superbike series. We'd be watching Robbie Phillis giving everyone a flogging at events such as the Island Classic. While that's great racing, the young 'uns would much rather see Ducati 1098Rs mixing it with GXS-Rs, R1s and ZX10s.

None taken Brian, and yes, need to take a look sometime Brian the world has indeed moved on since 1965 and there are PLENTY of options for 2 up riding with pillion comfort included, my bike probably NOT being one of them.

Without going in and finding each model you blokes have suggested, I have gone on the models I see in the papers and other ads. None of them would I ride as pillion.
I would not get an older bike as I already have one. Why replace a good BMW with jap junk of the same age? I usually look around on rides at other bikes and have noticed that the older bikes are indeed the only suitable pillion bikes. I understand the sales realities and so on but it is MY money. Thanks for all the advice though, appreciated. Getting back to the crash reasonings, I still say that if you build a race lookalike, it will be ridden thus. Cruisers do not normally instil racing but are involved in crashes. Is it the older rider or renewed rider problem? In my experience on a daily basis I have yet to see a new or young rider ride sensibly. It all seems peak revs and go like mad. Is it the modern thinking rider problem or have they been brainwashed? If so, the ads and builders have alot to answer for. edited fo typos, like the one h

Do they show these types of ads to learners and P platers at the various schools for car and bike?
If they do it certainly does not sink in to do all you can to protect yourself and others. How many t shirts/singlets/shorts/sandals/thongs did I see in the last week? Many. How many stupid passing maneuvers did I see? Several. Ages? All young males. Some L and some P, but also no platers. Thing that annoys me is that they make the rest look bad. Saw several cases of cars tailgating bikes. They are the bane of my life, those rectal orifices.
