The name 4B's stands for Bent & Buckled Bikies Bureau, with the idea being to offer injured riders support during their stays in hospital. This is a side of motorcycling often ignored, but the 4B's, with regular visits, distribution of magazines and friendly support, try to make it as easy as possible.

History of the Eureka Defend the Flag Ride
December 2004 and 2005
So how does anything like this ever start? A whim, an idea, a committee? Maybe all the above? For me it was more like a slow realization. It was late in 2003 that I’d seen advertising for the 150th Eureka Celebrations to be held in December 2004 and my interest was sparked. I was aware of how significant the rebellion was in Australia’s history but ignorant of the detail. So over a few weeks I’d occasionally jump on the net and the more I read the more my heart went out to the Eureka miners and the more incensed I was at their victimisation by the political bureaucracy of the day. The miner’s uprising was an expression of solidarity and a defense of their “rights and liberties” and I’d decided it was in fact quite a significant event.

Unlimited speeds in NT axed November 2, 2006 - 6:22PM The Age
For drivers on Northern Territory roads, the days of hitting the accelerator and forgetting the speedometer are over.
Clare Martin's Labor government today announced it would introduce a 110kph speed limit on all open roads, following the release of damning statistics by an expert taskforce.
The NT is the only place in Australia, and one of the few places left in the world, which has no speed limits and no demerit points, introduced in most Australian states in 1969.
But now the territory will toe the line.
Along with speed limits, the government will introduce a demerit system, heftier fines, a gradual roll-out of red light cameras and a greater police presence.

It's a serious message wrapped in a humorous package.
Just because we can, MCC of NSW has paid to have these indexed and coded into the media libraries of EVERY TV STATION around Australia. Yes it cost us twice what it would for NSW alone.
On top of production costs. The money for this has been generated by volunteer work by riders of the MCC of NSW.
This means that EVERY TV station will have these videos available for use in their Community Service Announcement slots.
It means that ANY rider group across Australia can make representation to their local TV station for showing these at appropriate times to co-ordinate with local events.
The adverts carry the tag line "What do we have to do to get noticed?" We have Tara Moss in a lead role. She's gorgeous on a T100.
We have created a download site so you can distribute the links, rather than the entire video.

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), the UK’s leading rider organisation says, the proposed amendment discussed recently in Parliament to the Road Safety Bill regarding compulsory lights for motorcycles illustrates the sad appetite for simple panaceas for road safety at which some politicians still grasp.
The amendment required motorcycles to use dipped headlights with a rear red light and confusingly in the same breath the use of compulsory Daytime Running Lights (DRL) during the daytime, there is a vast difference between dipped headlights and Day Time Running Lights.
Australians are being urged to give blood, with the Red Cross Blood Service warning it is down to 36 hours' supply.
Around half a million donors currently support the six million people who are hospitalised in Australia each year.
But the Red Cross said demand has increased this year and Australians do not appear willing to meet those needs, with supply now at a dangerously low level.

At the Special General Meeting on 30 September 2006, the Members of the MRAA voted to direct Damien Codognotto to sign and publish a statement recanting, and apologising for, a false statement he had previously made regarding a fellow MRAA Member and the Ulysses Club. As Damien has not complied with the directive within the time stipulated, the Board has complied with the Members' directive to amend Damien's record in the Register of Members to that of ex-member. Consequently Damien Codognotto is no longer a Member of the Motorcycle Riders' Association of Australia.

I just have to ask why not turn the cameras around ?
Last financial year QLD 2553 motorcyclists – an average of 212 a month – were caught speeding by speed cameras, but could not be identified and fined. Local QLD media claim 60 per cent of all photos of speeding motorcyclists were rejected because motorcycles are not required to have front numberplates – only at the back – so could not be identified
